Pre-Drilled Mounting Holes
Travel Ramps™ fiberglass wheelchair ramps can be pre-drilled prior to shipping to
allow for more secure installation and use. These holes enable the user
to nail, screw or bolt the ramp in place. Please note that securing a
portable wheelchair ramp in place my cause the ramp to be subject to
local building codes.
These mounting holes can also be used with metal pins to make the ramp
more secure without actually attaching them to anything. If the
wheelchair ramp is used often in one or two locations holes can be
drilled to line up with the pre-drilled holes in the ramp and metal pins
can be dropped through the ramp into the holes below to secure the ramp.
The ramp can then be easily removed by simply removing the pins.
One thing to keep in mind is that if the pin you have doesn't have a
head on it of some type, the depth of the holes can't be enough for the
pins to drop all the way through the ramp. The pins don't have to be
anything special, bolts can be used as pins.
